July in the distillery

July has been a frantic period in the distillery. After nearly six months of brewing and distilling unpeated malt we made the changeover to the peated variety. The upeated spirit has now started its long maturation period and it’s resting in the cool spirit store allowing time and nature to do their work. Read more…

Malt Whisky Society Gets Political

Outrage at proposed abandonment of ageing laws. The Malt Whisky Society of Australia gets political as the Federal Government to reconsider maturation laws.

In response to proposed changes to the Federal Government’s laws on maturation requirements for brandy, whisky and rum, MWSOA boss, Mr Craig Daniels, described the idea, “as a mind-blowingly bad idea”‘ stating, “that any change to these requirements would cause irreparable damage to the nascent and emerging Australian malt whisky industry”.
